Frequently Asked Questions

Who owns Mesilla Valley Pharmacy?

Our pharmacy is a completely independent pharmacy owned and operated by local Las Cruces pharmacists. We are not part of a large corporate chain and we did not franchise our pharmacy brand. We have spent years working to build the pharmacy that Las Cruces deserves. Unlike our corporate competitors and big chain pharmacies, we care about the health and wellness of our patients, their families, and our community.

Does Mesilla Valley Pharmacy take my insurance?

Yes! We accept all major insurance plans, but as a new independent pharmacy start-up, it may take a few weeks for your insurance to list us on their website. If your insurance plan forces you to go to a specific pharmacy like CVS pharmacy, ask them why and please let us know. That way we can contact them to add us as one of your preferred pharmacy options.

Will my copay be the same as my current pharmacy?

In most cases, yes. Depending on your insurance plan and network, there may be a difference in price no matter what pharmacy you choose. Unlike the large corporate pharmacies CVS, Walgreens and Walmart; we are able to get into preferred insurance plans a bit easier.

Can Mesilla Valley Pharmacy mail me my prescriptions?

Yes! Mesilla Valley Pharmacy can mail you your prescriptions, however we cannot do next day mail so remember to call in those prescription refills at least a week before they are due. This will help to prevent any gaps in your medication schedule.

Can Mesilla Valley Pharmacy deliver my prescriptions?

Yes! We currently offer delivery for a $9.99 fee within 5 miles of the store. If you’re presciption order is in by 1:00pm we can have your medications out for delivery that evening.

Does Mesilla Valley Pharmacy have a drive-thru?

No, we do not. However, Mesilla Valley Pharmacy does have a beautiful store with lots of parking spaces located in the heart of downtown Las Cruces. If you have any trouble getting in and out of your vehicle, we do offer curbside prescription pickup. We will bring your medication outside to you!

Can I use an app to order and manage my medications?

Yes! Mesilla Valley Pharmacy has partnered with Digital Pharmacist to provide a convenient prescription management app where you can scan the barcode on your prescription bottle, or simple enter the prescription number to request a refill.

What if I don’t have prescription insurance?

We are the best pharmacy for you! Being an independent pharmacy allows us more flexibility in our prescription pricing and more time to work with your healthcare providers to explore therapeutic alternatives that lower your prescription cost.

What is the RX MVP Savings Program?

The RX MVP Savings Program is a prescription discount program that allows you to get the lowest cost for your medications. Similar to GoodRX discount cards when you enroll in the RX MVP Savings Program, we evaluate your medication regimen to get you the lowest possible price on your medications whether you have prescription insurance or not. We will compare your insurance copays and discount prescription prices to ensure that you get the best price on each medication.

Can Mesilla Valley Pharmacy Compound?

Yes! We can compound creams, troches, suppositories, liquid and oil suspensions, capsules & more! Need a compounded medication? Schedule a consultation today!

Is Mesilla Valley Pharmacy a specialty pharmacy?

Not exactly, but not all specialty medications have to be filled at “specialty pharmacies”. There are many conditions that require specialty medications that we can fill and monitor for you such as rheumatoid arthritis, HIV, multiple sclerosis and more. Please contact us directly to find out if we can meet your needs.
